Updated: May 22

🌞 Meeting Recap: Welcome to Indivisible & Sunshine Strategies

Thanks to everyone who joined today’s kickoff meeting! Here’s a quick recap for those who couldn’t make it—or if you just want to pass this along to friends and neighbors who might want to get involved.

💥 What Is Indivisible?

Indivisible is a nationwide grassroots movement focused on defending democracy, resisting authoritarianism, and building progressive power from the ground up. It began in 2016 as a citizen-powered response to the Trump presidency, and it’s now thousands of local groups strong—including right here in Central Illinois.

Indivisible Lincoln's Circuit includes the following counties currently:

  • Christian County, Illinois

  • DeWitt County, Illinois

  • Logan County, Illinois

  • Macon County, Illinois

  • Montgomery County, Illinois

  • Piatt County, Illinois

Key Takeaways:

  • 💪 Power comes from local action—calling, showing up, and organizing around your member of Congress.

  • 🌈 Values include equity, climate justice, reproductive rights, and protecting democracy.

  • 🔧 They provide tools, resources, and training for citizens to take effective political action.

  • 🧠 No experience needed—just a willingness to show up, learn, and make some good trouble.
